"The Press" Special Service PALMERSTON NORTH. There would hardly be a youngster in the central districts as promising as the grey Byland colt, Tony Kaye. The dashing youngster gave another taste of his ability with an amazing dash over three fur longs at Awapuni yesterday morning.
Tony Kaye galloped on the inside trial. He cracked on the speed right from the start and Pavot Star was soon struggling well behind. In spite of being under a firm hold. Tony Kaye ran three furlongs in 34 4-ssec.
N. D. Eales will leave today for Gisborne with a team of five. All look good prospects on the trip and much interest will be taken in the debut of Cadiz’s half brother, Champion Road. He is in the Tangihanga Novice No. 2 and he should race well The Le Filou colt ran three fur longs this morning in 38 4-ssec and did it welt.
