Wahine Salvage

Sir, —I read this morning an account of fishing gear and other personal luggage disappearing from a station waggon salvaged recently from the wreck of the Wahine. The owner of the vehicle had flown to Wellington for the express purpose of claiming this property from his now worthless vehicle. This unfortunate man probably nearly lost his life when the Wahine foundered and certainly lost all his personal belongings and car. I feel that the salvage company and those concerned with recovering vehicles from the wreck should begin immediate investigations to find just what has happened to this missing luggage. The owner should not have to suffer a further unnecessary loss at this stage.—Yours, etc.,

P. F. CLARK. September 3, 1968.
