Suburban Clean Air Group

A St Martins - Beckenham group of the Clean Air Society was formed this week. The group is to accept an invitation from the Heathcote County Council to send a deputation to a meeting of the council. Submissions are to be made on the smoke from a brick and tile works in the area. Mr P. V. Neary, publicity officer of the Clean Air Society, said it was the aim of the society to encourage the formation of small groups of residents interested in particular instances of air pollution.

Officers of the group elected were: President, Mr J. J. Forster; secretary, Mrs B. P McGowan; clean air counsellor, Mr D. M. McKenzie.
