FLIGHTS BY N.A.C.

Extra Charges Questioned

It was wrong of the National Airways Corporation to charge $5.60 extra on the flight from Dunedin to Nelson when passengers had to go to Wellington and then fly back to Nelson, said Mr P. J. Scott (Dunedin City), at a meeting of the executive of the South Island Local Bodies’ Association.

Other speakers said that additional charges were imposed on similar flights that were not direct between two points. “To get to our conference at Nelson next month. I would have to motor to Hokitika. fly to Christchurch, on to Wellington and back to Nelson. I’m taking the car,” said Mr O. Jackson (Greymouth). The executive decided to ask the corporation why the extra charges were imposed.
