Objections By Club Upheld
Obiections by the Hornby Working Men’s Club to reading plans which would have affected new building on its nroperty had been upheld, the Paparua County Council was told last evening. The club told a council town-planning sub-committee that the council’s plan to build a road from the supermarket on the Main South Road through or past club property to Carmen Road would stop building extensions and hinder use of the existing buildings. In upholding the club’s objections, the council asked for an investigation into alternative access from Chalmers Road to Carmen Road, and agreed to give an underlying commercial B zoning to the club’s land.
