C. R. Laidlaw Available

C. R. Laidlaw will be available for the South Island team to play the North Island at Christchurch on August 31. In a telephone call from Wellington last evening, Laidlaw said the finger that was broken during the second test had healed and that he would play a casual game in Wellington this week-end.

He will return to Christchurch next week for about three weeks, to complete his course at the Christchurch Teachers' College. He will then return to Wellington before leaving for Oxford University on October 3.
