Buller and Westland.—Strong northeasterlies and rain at first; winds soon backing north or north-west; changeable showery conditions developing; moderate temperatures. Nelson.—Strong northerly winds, possibly reaching gale force in exposed places this morning; cloudy, with periods of rain; moderate temperatures. Canterbury.—North-easterlies at first, tending north or north-westerly during the day; rain in the western high country; scattered rain spreading to the east during the day; becoming milder. Marlborough.—Winds between north and east, mainly fresh but becoming strong in exposed places and later backing to the northwest; overcast; occasional rain developing during the morning; moderate day temperatures.
