Mr M. A. Connelly, M.P. for Riccarton, has left on a month’s tour of Asia. He is a member of a Parliamentary group led by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Seath). While Mr Connelly is away Mr R. M. Macfarlane, M.P. for Christchurch Central, will look after Riccarton electorate problems.

Chief Inspector W. R Fleming, of Auckland, has been transferred to Christchurch. He will be second in command of the uniformed branch in the Christchurch police district, and will begin duties at the central station next month. Mr Fleming will replace Chief Inspector B. Kelly, who was transferred to Auckland a few months ago.
