RANGITOTO DUE TODAY

Cargo From U.K. The 21,809-ton Rangitoto, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s passenger liner and flagship, is due at Lyttelton from Wellington today to discharge United Kingdom cargo and load for return. She is commanded by Commodore K. Barnett.

The Rangitoto will be withdrawn from service next July and this will end nearly a century’s passenger service by this company between New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Her sister ship Rangitane and the smaller passenger liner Ruahine were withdrawn earlier this year.
