Not Playing Cup Winner

The New Zealand cricket team touring England next year will not play the winner of the Gillette Cup.

The chairman of the council’s board of control (Mr J. G. Leggat) said yesterday that the M.C.C. had suggested the match against the winner of the county knock-out competition. However, it could not be arranged in the itinerary. Mr Leggat also said the New Zealand team would be the guests of the British Sportsmen’s Club for luncheon at the Savoy on June 23.
