Examinations In Oral French

A pleasing level of ability in dictation, reading and conversation, and a continuation of the recent improvement in standard were shown in the recent oral examinations in French, said the organiser (Mr D. S. Walker), a committee member of Alliance Francaise.

Mr Walker said the examinations, conducted by French people and University of Canterbury staff, showed that the top candidates were very close, but there had been a very sad decline in the weaker candidates.

The Alliance Oral Cup for the school gaining the most points was won by RangiRuru School. Results were:— Division One
