Damages Of $15,189

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, August 18. Ronald Andrew Carter, a 37-year-old freezing worker, was awarded $15,189 by a jury in the Dunedin Supreme Court on Friday in a claim for damages against the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, Ltd. The sum included $14,000 general damages and $llB9 special damages and medical expenses. The jury gave its decision after deliberating for three hours and a half, after which Mr Justice Henry entered judgment for the plaintiff. The claim arose from an accident at the Burnside freezing works, on May 31, 1966.
