INVERCARGILL. A high standard of play was seen in the first day of the New Zealand B grade women’s indoor basketball championship at Invercargill yesterday. Results: Morning. South Canterbury 42, Southland 40; Otago 47, Eastern Southland 33.
Afternoon. Canterbury 50, Wellington 28; South Otago 42, Palmerston 33; Whangarei 46. South Canterbury 25.
Night. Mid-Canterbury 58. Otago 48; Nelson 52, Southland 44. Auckland 46, Eastern South land 23.
