Soviet players took both singles titles at the Moscow international lawn tennis tournament. T. Lejus, the Russian No. 2 player, won the men’s singles final against S. Likhachov, 6-8, 7-5, 6-2. 8-6. Miss O. Morozova, a surprise Wimbledon mixed doubles finalist this year, easily beat Miss M. Chuvyrina. 6-1, 6-3, in the women’s singles final.
Morozova and Chuvyrina proved a formidable combination in the women’s doubles final, beating the Australians, Misses K. Harris and L. Hunt, 6-2, 6-3.
Australia’s first team to a iournament in Russia gained one title —the mixed doubles. J. Alexander and Miss Hunt beat R. Giltinan and Miss Harris, 6-3, 6-4.
The Dutchman, T. Okker, won the men’s singles title at the Dutch national championships in Schevengen, for the fifth time when he beat the Dutch No. 2 Davis Cup player. J. Hajer, 6-2. 6-3, 10-8, in the final.
R. Krishnan (India) won the Canadian open tennis championship in Toronto crushing T. Ulrich (Denmark), 6-3, 6-0, 7-5.
