ELECTRICITY CHARGES
Earlv Review Suggested
(N.Z. Press Association)
AUCKLAND, August 19. The Government may be asked to review its bulk electricity tariffs before it is due to do so in another 18 months. The chairman of the Electrical Supply Authorities’ Association (Mr A. W. Gooder) said today that the lessening in demand for power could warrant an early review of charges. He agreed with the recent recommendation of the Government Power Planning Committee that some new works should be deferred because of the drop in demand, but this obviously had an effect on the Government’s capital commitment.
