Maoris Win Match

(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH. After being down 6-3 at halftime the New Zealand Maori Rugby team scored two tries in the second half to beat Manawatu, 11-6, at Palmerston North yesterday. All the points for the Maoris were scored by the Going brothers, who played excellent Rugby. They were well supported by the wing three-quart-ers, G. Scudder and A. Lambert, but the Manawatu forwards were the dominating pack. The Maori team relied on moves from broken play. A high wind affected play. B. Cuff, the half-back for Manawatu, matched his All Black counterpart, S. M. Going, in every way and P. Mclvor, at full-back, tackled and handled well throughout.

Scorers were:— New Zealand Maoris: G. Going two tries, K. T. Going a conversion and a goal from a penalty. Manawatu: J. Rumball a try, and R. Burgess a goal from a penalty.
