N.Z. Driver Killed

The New Zealand racing driver, John Ward, of Gisborne, was killed yesterday in a crash during a touring car race at the Catalina circuit, 60 miles west of Sydney. Ward’s powerful Lotus Cortina skidded after grazing another car, hit an embankment and overturned several times. Police said that the 30-year-old Ward suffered head injuries in the crash and was dead on arrival at hospital.
