ELLESMERE RESULTS

Apart from the A sactiCn of the senior trade, all the Ellesmere Rugby Sub-unlon’a competitions were decided on Saturday.

Southbridge was due to meet Burnham in a senior A section match but the Biirnham team could not be present because of other commitments, The Subunion’s Competitions committee will meet this evening to decide the case.

If .Southbridge wins by default, it will tie for first place with Lincoln. The two would then be required to play On Augufct 31 to decide the winner of the competition. United won the senior B section. It scored 16 points fallowed by Darfield and Prebbleton 12, Peninsula-Waihora 4 and Black Diamond 0. Final leading points in the other two grades were:—Junior: Springston 26, Kirwee 22, Peninsula 18. Third grade: Lincoln 26, Leeston, 24, Sheffield 18. Results were: Senior.—Section A: Lincoln 3, Dunsandel 0; Leeston 16, Irwell S. Section B: peninsula-Wai-hora 11, Black Diamond 9; Prebbletoh 12, Darfield 9; United had the bye.

Junior.—Southbridge 11, Waihora 9; Kirwee 16, LeeSton Combined 3; Peninsula beat Lincoln by default; Springston bOat Hororata by default. Third Grade.—Lincoln 25, Sheffield 3; Southbridge 14, Horwatt 11; Leeston 24, Dun-sandel-Burhham 0; Kirwee beat Waihor* by default
