Live-Rabbit Lures

Inspectors from the R.S.P.C.A. raided a greyhound track at Chipping Norton, near Liverpool, in New South Wales, yesterday after 15 rabbits had been torn to pieces by greyhounds. Inspectors untied a live rabbit from a lure and left the track. Inspector H. E. Merrick said later that it was necessary to capture a live rabbit before a prosecution could be launched. Trainers, he said, had tied mutilated rabbits to the lure for the greyhounds to chase.—Sydney, August 18.
