Ashley Bridge

Sir, —At the beginning of this year 1 wrote to the authority drawing attention to the hazard at the Rangiora entrance to the Ashley River traffic bridge. No reply, and nothing done. The approach is curved and rises, there is absolutely no road marking of any description, and the speed limit is 55 m.p.h. A truck went through the fence and over the bank yesterday afternoon.—Yours, etc., CAR DRIVER. August 13, 1968. [The Rangiora County Clerk (Mr A. A. H. McKenzie) had no comment to make when this letter was referred to him.)
