French Nuclear Tests
Sir,—The report from Mr Benoit (French counsellor) giving a quotation from a French paper seems to me to be trying to lull us into a sense of false security. I would sooner believe Mr Charles Brotherson, of Raiatea, who has been an eyewitness of these radiation burns, etc., and who is a wellknown and very well respected person on those islands. It is hoped the people of New Zealand will also help these people get autonomy for their islands.—Yours, etc., DOROTHEA M. RICHARDS. Belfast, August 15, 1968.
