MESS BALL HELD
The “Roaring ’twenties” was the theme for a ball held last evening by the mees president and officers at the Royal New Zealand Air Force Base, 'Wigrum. Decorations were appropriate and members of the band, were dressed in the style of the 19205. The 300 guests ware re(ceived by Air (Commodore A. S. Agar and Mrs Agar. The official -guests included Mr 3. R. (Bolton, First Secretary, British High Commis.sion in CiMiifitohiiiridi. and Mrs Bolton; Mr H. M. G. Daniel, Australian Trade Oomnnssioner for the South Island, and Mis Daniel; Brigadier W.. R. K. Morrison, -‘Oommandant, Souther® Military District, and Mrs Manrison; (Commander IL. M. Jnhnson, United States Navy, and Mrs Jotm,son; Cownmander R. F. Sanderson, oommandin g officer, Canterbury dimisten, R.N2.JN.VjR., and Mrs Sanderson; .Mr D. B. Dallas, District Commissioner Of Wdrtas, and Mrs Dallas; Or G. D. Hattaway, .Christefaußßii City Council, and Mzs BMtaway. The tsmiimittee in charge of foe decamlians was FMgtat Lieutenant R. W. Campbell, Flytag Officer J. D. latnont, and members of foe officers’ ■ mess.
Pale Shaes.—Keep very pale leather shoes looking clean and new by sponging them gently with soap and water after every wearing. Always polish them as soon as they are dry.
