GIANT SLALOM CHAMPION.—The 1968 Olympic representative, M. Gardner (Amuri), sweeping down the slopes at Coronet Peak to win the New Zealand giant slalom championship. On time, Gardner finished first equal with the talented young American, T. Skating, who was not eligible for the title. Gardner was runner-up for the senior combined title to R. Palmer (Ruapehu).
