N.Z. DAIRY SCIENCE

More Graduates Needed fN.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, August 16. The need for much larger numbers of graduates in the dairy industry was among topics discussed by some 45 dairy scientists at the New Zealand Dairy Science Association’s annual conference which ended in Hamilton today. I A statement from the conference said that more graduates were required not only in the laboratory but also in the “upper levels of management.” in policy making, and in sales and service for dairy products. Much larger numbers than were at present employed in the industry were required because of the increasing sophistication of the industry, increasing use of dairy products specially formulated for particular requirements, and the increasing need for elaborate analytical procedures to check dairy products for pesticide residues, salmonella, and other possible defects.
