Clarke Misses Record

(N Z. Press 4ssn —Copyrioht) VAESTERAAS (Sweden)

The Australian, R. Clarke, failed in an attempt to break his own world record for two miles at the fifth international Vaesteraas Idrottsklubb (Vik) Games.

Clarke, who set his record of Bmin 19.8 sec on June 27 last year, won the race in Bmin 29.65ec, nearly 10 seconds ahead of Finland's J Kuha, the new world-record holder in the 3000 metres steeplechase.
