TABAK IN GAMES
For several weeks, there had been conjecture on whether the Netherlands would send a 4000 metres pursuit team, because a stiff qualifying time of 4min 35sec was apparently demanded. However, in a letter received yesterday, Tabak said he had been chosen to go to the Olympics and to the world championships afterwards in Uruguay. Tabak did not say in which events he would ride overseas but it is likely that they will be the teams pursuit and. possibly, the 100 kilometres teams time trial. His club team will this week ride in the final of the Dutch, championships in the, teams pursuit: and Tabak. 10 days ago. w’as fifth in the Dutch 50 kilometres road championships. Tabak has also been riding in I 100 kilometre teams,! which strengthens the be-; lief that he will be in the Dutch team, although he said he does not train much on the road now. He said he would like to ride in the New Zealand tours, the Dulux six-day and the Southland three-day, and reaffirmed his wish to, help the New Zealand team as much as possible in Mexico City.
