I A light-hearted look at military training by men of the nineteenth intake of national servicemen gave considerable enjoyment to the 3500 visitors who attended the march-out demonstration at Burnham Military Camp yesterday afternoon. It helped to give humour to a three-hour programme which had as its main purpose a comprehensive display iof the civilian soldier's swift mastery of a variety of milij tary skills. There were demonstrations of physical training, weapon fire power, a convoy ambush, simulated air attack by an R.N.Z.A.F. Harvard, a Ferret scout car. quick-action drill by the 32nd Battery of the 3rd Field Regiment, and an Iroquois helicopter. There was also a number of static displays by the 3rd Infantry Brigade Group. The reviewing officer (Brigadier W. R. K. Morrison) expressed pleasure at the spirit and quality of the national servicemen who had endured a full training programme in a rough, wet winter. Brigadier Morrison presented long service and good conduct medals to Warrant Officer T. M. J. Chittock, the R.S.M. of the 3rd Field Regiment, and Warrant Officer H. D. J. McFarlane, R.N.Z.I.R.
