A profit of >lll6 is shown in the accounts to be presented at the annual meeting of the Banks Peninsula Trotting Club on August 28. Last year the club showed a profit of $2BOB.
The club distributed a record amount of $9820 in stakes at its meetings last season. $9OO more than for the previous year.
Off-course betting of $96,083 was a record for the club, while the on-course total of $112,467 was the second highest recorded. The combined total of $208,550 was a record.
King's Cord Sold
King s Cord, an aged gelding by Ripcord from Queen's Brigade, has been sold to the Sydney trainer. W. Picken. King's Cord, bred at Katkoura by Mr H. J. Hewson, gained only one win last season, beating Big Charge at Hutt Park in January. He was bred at Kaikoura by Mr H. J. Hewson. but more recently he was raced in the North Island. He won seven races and recorded a long list of placings.
Trainer Bead.->J. Besanko. the trainer of the Sydney Cup winner. Grand Print, has died in Melbourne, aged <l.
