SHIPPING DELAYED

Strong winds have delayed south-bound shipping off the coast.

The motor vessel Calm, bound from Auckland to Lyttelton to load bulk wheat for Tauranga, was hove to off the Clarence River because of strong head winds last evening and is not expected to arrive until this morning. The Seaway Princess is meeting heavy weather further north and will not arrive until tomorrow. The Maori, however, on a daylight crossing from Welling to Lyttelton yesterday, was only half an hour later than normal, in spite of strong head winds. She will make another south-bound daylight trip today to pick up passengers going north for the French Rugby test
