Converted Car Hits Pole
A man was found with head, arm and leg injuries after a converted car hit a power pole in New Brighton Road last evening. The man was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, where his condition was reported to be satisfactory. The car had been taken from the corner of Voss Street and Quinns Road, Shirley, about 7.30 p.m. It was substantially damaged when it was found. The injured man was taken to hospital in a St John ambulance. Police with dogs tracked two men who ran away from the damaged car, but the scent was lost after half a mile. Detectives were still investigating late last night.
