Boys’ Brigade Sports
A Boys’ Brigade sports meeting for competitors from many parts of the South Island will be held at Ashburton on November 2, the Canterbury battalion council agreed at its monthly meeting.
The Olympics will be based on the successful meeting held by the Canterbury area of the Life Boys at Ashburton in 1964.
The Life Boys are now incorporated as the team section of the Boys' Brigade. The 1964 meeting was attended by more than 1000 competitors from the South Island.
“The games will be arranged by the Canterbury battalion and invitations are being sent to all South Island team sections. An inquiry has already been received from a Dunedin team section," the committee convener (Mr W. F. Bishop) said.
Watch Stolen.—A self-wind-ing watch, valued at $59 had been stolen from the showroom window of the Ring House, Cashel Street, it was reported to the police on Tuesday.
