Boys’ Brigade Companies

Four new Boys’ Brigade companies were being formed, the Canterbury battalion president (Mr J. L. Bush) told the battalion council meeting on Monday evening. The companies will be associated with St Aidan's Presbyterian Church, Shirley, St Margaret’s Presbyterian Church, Bishopdale, St John’s Anglican Church, Addington, and St Mary’s Anglican Church, Baisweil. Mr Bush said that the training committee had instituted a system of training to provide all the officers in the new companies with basic training and assistance until they were well established. This would avoid the proposed officers having to wait for the next basic training course which was some months away.
