Profit And Loss

The Cricket Council made a profit of $5189 on the Indian tour of New Zealand, and a loss of $9771 on New Zealand’s tour of Australia. In a provisional financial report to the Board of Control last evening, Mr J. L. Kerr also reported that the Fiji tour of New Zealand had so far returned a profit of $llB.

I Mr Kerr said a loss of $7907 j had been budgeted for the Australian tour and exceeded by $1864. Guarantees of $l4OO on the Fiji tour were still owing and will be discussed when the board continues its meeting this morning. There was a profit of nearly $3OO in the general account as opposed to last year’s loss of $3OOO, Mr Kerr reported, and the Plunket Shield profit showed an increase of nearly $lOOO.
