New Time-table Announced The National Airways Corporation will run 10 Boeing 737 services a day through Christchurch when the aircraft enters service on the main trunk route on October 14. The time-table provides three flights to Auckland by way of Wellington leaving at 9 a.m., 2.20 p.m. and 7 p.m., a flight to Dunedin at 10.45 a.m, and a direct flight to Auckland at 1.45 p.m. All are return services. On the ChristchurchWellington flights the 737 will take 45 minutes. This will reduce the time of the Viscounts by 15 minutes and of the Friendships by 20 minutes. The Boeing flight to Dunedin from Christchurch will take 45 minutes, 20 minutes, less than Viscount flights and 25 minutes less than Friendship flights. The direct flight from Christchurch to Auckland will take 80 minutes, reducing the Viscount time by 35 minutes and the Friendship by 50 minutes. The uckland flight will take one hour. The Viscount takes 85 minutes and the Friendship 95 minutes.
The average time the 90passenger Boeing will spend on the ground at each stop will be 30 minutes. , The Boeings will not fly on Saturdays. There will be five services on Sundays. At present the airline has six Dakotas in service. When the Boeings come into' use the number will be reduced to three. There will also be new Friendship services to Whangarei and V/hakatane.
