1969 N.Z. Ploughing
(From Our Own Reporter) BLENHEIM, July 7. Next year's New Zealand ploughing championships will be held in Wairarapa. This will be the third time that the national event has been held in the North Island since the championships began in 1956. The president of the New Zealand Ploughing Association, Mr J. S. Murray, of Hamilton, said at the weekend that as far as was known at this stage the national event in 1970 would be at Taieri.
Messrs E. A. E. Fairhall, of Blenheim, T. F. Carter, of Greenpark, and G. C. Hurst, of Papakaio, were re-elected to the executive committee of the association at the annual meeting. Mr J. S. Marshall, of Waianiwa, is president-elect for 1969 and Mr H. A. Magson, of Rokeby, has been appointed senior vice-president for next year. Agreement has been reached on an amendment to the constitution of the New Zealand Ploughing Association so that when members retire by rotation from the executive appointments to fill the vacancies will be made in the regions where the vacancies occur, instead of being made at the annual meeting of the association.
