FRIESIAN SALE

Heifers In Demand Two-year-old heifers continued to sell strongly at a sale conducted by the Marlborough - Nelson Friesian Cattle Breeders’ Club at Blenheim last week. An offering of 21 pedigree heifers, on account of six vendors, returned an average of $213 a head, but there was little inquiry for an entry of eight bulls. Top price for heifers was $340 for one of nine lots from W. G. Parkes and Sons, of Tuamarina. The same vendors had another sale at $3OO, and their line averaged $222.70. R. C. Woolley and Son, of Tuamarina, sold a pedigree bull for $315. There was another sale at $l6O, but the remainder were passed in at auction. Local buyers took a fair proportion of the heifer offering, and other sales were made to buyers from the Christchurch district and Rangiora. Details of sales were:— Pedigree Helfers W. G.
