SIX THIRD FORMS
Shirley Boys’ High School The Shirley Boys’ High School will accept six third forms next year. “We will be short of accommodation but we will get by somehow,” said the headmaster (Mr C. V. Gallagher) yesterday.
The Education Department advised that additional buildings would not be ready for the beginning of next year. It considered that there would be no advantage in making two contracts to gain speed, but priority for a fourclassroom block over other extensions approved would be arranged. Other aspects of enrolments, buildings, and uniform for next year would be considered in private meeting, said the chairman (Dr D. L. Cropp).
