BOY FALLS TO RAILWAY LINE

A boy was carried to safety off the railway tracks at the Styx overbridge last evening only a minute before a south-bound goods train went past. He had fallen from the bridge. The boy, Trevor Wilks, aged 10, of 4 Farquhars Road, the son of Mr E. Wilks, suffered chest injuries. He was admitted to Christchurch Hospital where

his condition last evening was reported to be fairly satisfactory. Trevor Wilks was one of a group of boys playing at the overbridge, some of them standing on the bridge parapet Trevor Wilks felt dizzy, toppled and fell about 35ft on to the tracks. Ambulance men carried the boy off the line just before the goods train passed.
