The Australians, at one stage 83 for six, recovered to reach a stumps total of 207 for eight. Inverarity batted 3hr 40mIn sharing partnerships of 49 with B. H. Jarman and 49 again with G. D. McKenzie to restore Australia’s fortunes. Earlier, the Australians had made heavy weather of a keenlydirected Leicestershire seam attack, the captain, W. M.
