M Goddard again played soundly for Lincoln College and remained unllustered and confident in the face of the MerlvalePapanui loose forwards. M. Moore was an aggressive wing and his try was the result of alert following-up. G. Rennie was a lively loose forward and A. McLellan a capable pack leader. The Merivale-Papanul forwards were a bit disappointing and allowed Lincoln to dictate terms for much of the game. C. Furlonger was an aggressive flanker, who did a tremendous amount of covering work The Merivale-Papanui right wing, McLaughlin, confirmed the promise he had shown in earlier matches with another good game and he scored a splendid try after chasing the ball for 50 yards. Referee: Mr B E. Powell.
