Speculation On Wahine
(N Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 12. A report from Auckland that the Union Steam Ship Company would build a replacement for the Wahine with the insurance money was speculation, an official of the company said tonight. The Auckland report said the building of the new ship could take two years. “This is pure speculation on someone's part,” said the official. "There's been no decision on this so far.” The company said on Friday that it was still seeking a suitable replacement vessel.
