Chathams Trawlers Found By Orion

(New Zealand Preet Association) AUCKLAND, May 12. A sea and air search for two missing trawlers ended just before dusk today when a Royal New Zealand Air Force Orion found the vessels 75 miles north-west of the Chatham Islands.

Ar. Air Force spokesman said tonight that the trawlers were believed to be in no danger and that seas were “a bit lumpy,” with moderate winds. Seven men are aboard the two boats.

The freighter Holmdale, which had been searching for the trawlers since Saturday, was tonight escorting them to the Chathams. It was directed to the area by the Orion. The oceanic search centre at Whenuapai was set up early today after a request by the Christchurch police and the Marine Department. The Orion took off at 11 a.m. The trawlers, the Sea Fury and the Marie Ann, put to sea from Port Chalmers on Sunday, May 5, with four other

trawlers to fish the Chathams area. The Sea Fury and the Marie Ann apparently became detached from the convoy on Tuesday. Three other trawlers

> reached port on Wednesday and the fourth earlier. Radio messages from the i trawlers were picked up in i the Chathams, saying they i were lost
