ALL BLACK SELECTION
“Injustice To Auckland”
(N:z. Pwm AttoclaHoii)
AUCKLAND.
The AH Black selectors had done Auckland a great injustice by selecting only one Auckland player in the 25man team to tour AustraUa, the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union was told on Wednesday evening.
Mr P. R. Hall (Otahuhu) strongly criticised the selection before he was ruled out of order by the chairman, Mr R. L. Burt. Mr Hall said that he wanted to express his dissatisfaction not only with the way Auckland had been treated, but with the way the northern part of the North Island had been treated. “The area north of Hamilton, which holds half the population of New Zealand, has only got four men in the side,’* he said. “I feel a great injustice has been done.” Mr Burk said that he would not allow criticism of Mr Hall, as Auckland's second fifteen selector, and would not allow criticism of the national selectors.
“As a union, we must support them,” he said.
