SURVEY OF FINANCE

A survey of the finances of school committees was planned by the New Zealand Federation of School Committees said Mrs M. E. Rae, the acting chairman, at a meeting of the Canterbury School Committees' Association on Wednesday. The meeting considered a letter from the Bishopdale School Commltee which complained that a debit in its number one account was being carried on from year to year. The committee asked for a survey of accounts of other school committees. The secretary (Mr R. W. Taylor) said many committees had credit balances in their accounts. It was decided to tell the Bishopdale committee about the proposed survey. There are 2262 school committees in New Zealand.
