DAMAGE IN RIOTS
Estimate Of Insurance
(N Z.P A.-Reuter—Copyright)
NEW YORK, April 10.
Insurance companies might have to pay out more than SUS3Om to compensate for property losses caused by civil disturbances throughout the United States since last Thursday, the American Insurance Association said yesterday. Companies in the association provide the bulk of the insurance on homes and property in this country.
This is a rough estimate based upon preliminary reports from the more than 90 communities in which riots have occurred. The largest losses were reported from Chicago, Baltimore and Washington, each approximately SUSIOm.
