Ministers Busy
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 10.
The Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) has instructed the Cabinet Ministers whose departments are most involved in the handling of gale damage to devote all their time to the emergency.
Departments particularly concerned are the Ministry of Works, the Electricity Department, the Police, and the Post Office.
“From reports made to me I know that local authorities and Government departments are doing everything possible to restore and maintain the essential services' under their control,” he said. Mr Holyoake expressed the Government’s sympathy for those suffering personal hardship, accident, or property damage.
