“The Press’’ Special Service DUNEDIN. A 5.30 p.m. rtart will be made by the Forbury Park Trotting Club on both nights of its winter meeting on Saturday, April 27 and Saturday, May 4. The opening event is timed for 5.30 p.m., almost an hour earlier than usual, with half hour intervals between races. The first leg of the T.A.B. double is at 7.30 p.m. and the second leg at 0.30. The last race starts at 9.30 p.m. “The earlier start is for the benefit of people travelling any distance to the meeting and returning home the same night,** the secretary of the Forbury Park Trotting Club, Mr L. Clark, said yesterday. “This is in the nature of a trial, and if successful is likely to be retained,’’ Mr Clark said. Stakes for the two night meetings are $22,000, on par with last year.
