Miss Whiting Breaks Riccarton Record
Miss C. Whiling, the New Zealand junior swimming representative and freestyle gold medalist, broke three records in the junior section at the Riccarton High School's swimming sports. She lowered the 50 metres backstroke time to 35.95ec.. and the 33 1-3 metres freestyle to 35.8 sec. She also beat the previous best mark for 50 metres breaststroke.
