Sorry 9 Wrong Country

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 17. Faulty switching equip* ment caused an Australian telephone call intended for Cohey, New South Wales, to reach a Papatoetoe number twice within a few minutes on Saturday morning. Mr N. Wiltshire, of Papatoetoe, answered his telephone and a woman said: “Is that Cohey?” giving a four-figure number.

When Mr Wiltshire replied that it was Papatoetoe, she rang off. A few minutes later Mr Wiltshire again answered another telephone call from the woman. This time she ashed: “Well, where is Papatoetoe, anyway?” When Mr Wiltshire told her,- she said: “Good heavens, I’m in Australia.”
