ACCIDENT ADVICE

Some form of device to warn drivers when there has been an accident in a race is to be investigated by the executive of the New Zealand Trotting Conference.

In the meantime it will recommend to night trotting clubs that they should obtain details of the system in use at Alexandra Park.

Four flashing lights are installed at appropriate points at Alexandra Park and when an accident occurs, the light nearest the incident is switched on. A steward is in control of each flashing light and he is available to give assistance to the drivers of any fallen horses.
